In July HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius announced $71.3 million in grants to expand nursing education, training and diversity.

Need More Nurses as Nurse Navigators

More and more hospitals are utilizing nurse navigators to help steer patients through the medical system maze, especially in cancer treatments. At no added charge, navigators help patients make informed decisions, set up doctor appointments, arrange tests etc. Nurse navigators help dealing with chemotherapy and help them stay on track while offering emotional support.
